We Offer Our Students:
~ Half-day or full-day information/awareness clinics from professionals in agencies that specialize in the different types of disabilities and agencies that will be potential employers once the participants complete the program.
~ Certification in courses such as: Standard FA/CPR, Mental Health First Aid, Livingworks Start Suicide Prevention and Information, Indigenous Awareness, Cultural Awareness, Trauma Informed Care, Addictions 101, Depression 101, Mental Health 101 etc.
~ Training in communication, active listening, progress note writing, routine planning, self-care and burn-out prevention, empathy, and sensitivity awareness.
~ 100 hours of practicum placements with agencies in Central Alberta.
~ Our knowledgeable staff members provide our students and graduates with securing employment in their field of study, follow-up after they graduate, and place that they can always return to when they need us.
We Provide our Students with:
~ Skill building to assist them in returning to work or getting into a new field of employment
~ A boost in their self-esteem, self-image, confidence, strength to move forward etc.
~ Individuals who may be living with disabilities/special needs and abilities and require assistance in building their personal skills, communication skills, confidence, self-esteem, and strengths etc.
~ People who may have completed rehabilitation or another program and are ready to move forward but may require some assistance
~ Our agency has an “Open Door Policy” which means that we assist anyone who requires assistance with anything within our realm of knowledge, such as: a referral to another agency, program and/or service regarding questions about further learning, housing, disability services, addictions, mental/physical health concerns, counselling, employment services and/or anything else we are able to guide them to.
Alberta Prairies Life Enrichment Training Studio Ltd.(APLETS) along with Red Deer Carpet One, GS Communities, Central Alberta Brain Injury Society (CABIS), and Riser Homes have come together to develop a unique approach to the lack of affordable housing crisis that Central Alberta is facing.
Our partners have brought together the expertise of other Central Alberta community agencies and businesses as supporters of the “Enriched Living Villas” Project. Some of these agencies and businesses include; Trail Appliance, Seeds of Compassion, Elizabeth Fry Society, Red Deer Native Friendship Society, Central Alberta FASD Network, Turning Point, along with others.
The “Enriched Living Villas” Project is an innovative idea that brings together expert partners, supporters, volunteers and a plethora of unique components.
