2020~ In May the founder of APLETS, Tracy Sininger, met with Jean Stinson, the President of CABIS, to discuss a partnership and from there we became strong, united agency partners.
~ APLETS became a Registered Non-Profit on June 19th. CABIS offered a space in their office for APLETS to have an office and classroom space.
~ APLETS had our 1st Annual General Meeting and formed a board of directors with an executive.
~ Website and Facebook accounts were created for APLETS
~ In November APLETS received a grant from Red Deer & District Community Foundation to run a pilot of our Life Enrichment Support Worker Program.
2021~ February to April APLETS ran a pilot for our Life Enrichment Support Worker Program.
~ On August 29 APLETS 2nd program Life Enrichment Support Worker Program became Licensed by Alberta Advanced Education.
~ In October a private funder contacted APLETS to offer student loans for 5 students to participate in the LESWP.
~ Mid-November APLETS secured a lease on an office space across the hallway from CABIS with 2 classrooms and 2 offices. APLETS moved in to this office space and made it our own.
~ December we began a session of the LESWP.
2022~ In March the session of the LESWP finished the 12 weeks.
~ April came and we started a new session of the LESWP program that finished on July 15th.
~ In June APLETS received the great news that our partner agency CABIS was accepted by Lifelong Learning Council of Red Deer for a grant to run a pilot of APLETS Life Enrichment Skills for Living Program.
~ APLETS facilitated a pilot of the LESFLP from Sept – December.
~ In November Central Alberta Brain Injury Society offered to donate $4800 per year to APLETS as sustainable funding by volunteering a ½ bingo every month with CABIS starting in December. CABIS and APLETS signed an agreement for this opportunity.
~ APLETS continues to volunteer 4-6 bingos per month for CABIS and Red Deer Action Group Society as well.
2023~ January has started off being very busy as we gear up to begin a session of the LESWP in March and a session of the LESFLP to start in April.
~ Our agency continues to fundraise and make our agency and programs more known in the community.
~ APLETS strives to inspire, educate and train individuals to spread kindness, acceptance and love in our communities to make our world a better place.
APLETS has partnered with Central Alberta Brain Injury Society to support each other’s non-profit/charities which in-turn helps our citizens who are vulnerable, disadvantaged, who have special needs and anyone who is faced with barriers in Central Alberta.
